knit, knit, knit, knit, knit ......and then some
I'm a sucker when it comes to making things for people in search of xyz. Nevermind if I"ve got plenty of other things going on, I will make it happen!! My latest project is this gorgeous baby sweater and bonnet. I've not knit with fingerling weight yarn and underestimated how long it would really take me, but it was fun to watch it come together -- however, stockinette stitch is not likely to make a reappearance in any projects in the near future.
The free pattern you can find by visiting What To Knit When, it was pretty simple to follow. The yarn used I found at Michael's -- Loops and Threads Woolike Yarn in teal. One skein had more then enough for the cardigan and bonnet. The mom to be is adding her own buttons but I'm hoping she'll share a picture once her little one arrives. The bonnet I came up with the pattern for. If there's interest I can sort through my notes on it to make it a readable pattern ;)
PlusSoAlso ... I found a lovely local knitting group!!
